Founder Notes
My Motivation for founding DEKEMP by Kelechukwu N. Onwukamike (PhD)
HOPE, this 4 letter words formed the underlying reason for starting the mentorship platform. I was becoming frustrated by the many excellent graduate students that easily found themselves without any direction after graduation. When I did talk with some, it was obvious they just lived each day as they come. I figured out that sharing my stories on LinkedIn as well as coaching and mentoring gave thousands of people another reason to fight on; HOPE. When someone looks at me and read my story, it becomes more feasible that they too, sharing similar educational background and upbringing can also achieve the same and even more.
So Hope is the foundation on which DEKEMP was built. And as I will always say, if we manage to give just one-person HOPE, then we are succeeding. The strategy is give HOPE to all, one person at a time.
